today is an okay-ish day. not super great, but definitely not bad. im starting to get back to not succumbing to every single craving i have (actually i have like no appetite for anything except hummus and pita at the moment oh, and diet coke, but I digress)...my body is getting back to normal...my hormones are still a disaster but not as bad as they were...anyway, the point is for the first time i feel like i am taking steps forward, away from this experience as opposed to just wandering around in circles within it.
anyway, sufficed to say the whole easter season of rebirth was definitely not lost on me. irony irony.
and beyond all that larry birkhead is anna nicole's baby daddy and my own dad is coming to visit me a week from friday so i am super happy about that and he's staying at the landmark (which means, whether he realizes this or not - and knowing me, as he has, for 23 years, he does) that iiiiiii too will be staying at the landmark. seriously - second home, dont know why...only lived there for a little while, but when you think about it, it kinda makes sense. my dad lived there for 3 months during interview with the vampire back when it was the Regent. then again for harry potter, 6 or 7 years later, with us. and then i go in whenever i can, and stayed there for just a few days last semester when i decided i hated the world and everyone in it.
(by the way, when you feel like that, i highly highly recommend checking yourself into a five star hotel...doesnt really matter which one, anyone will do...it does wonders for your outlook.) and i go for tea or dinner when i can and have been dragging friends to it and i just generally feel beyond happy there. it's like the mothership. when my parents came to visit last semester they didnt stay at the landmark but we went for dinner and a drink in the Cellars there and it was like old times so staying there again, with a member of my family makes me so ecstatic. i wish my mother and sister and brother were coming too.
my siblings and i had run of that place...it was great.
i miss our flat very much too, but over the years the place that has had the most resonance for me has been the hotel.
anyway, didnt mean for this to turn into an advertisement.
the point is, things are getting better. "good times are just around the corner."
i have to tell you, im not sure why we quote that in my family, since it was one of the last things my mom's dad said before he collapsed on a beach in malibu of a heart attack at age 47 and died.
maybe we quote it ironically? im not sure....tessa: thoughts?
