(Based on the Purdue Perceptual Motor Survey)
Katie Legato - February 7, 1990
excerpt:
Katie has exceptionally well-developed hand-eye coordination as evidenced by her drawing. This skill enables her to perform well in the academic tasks required in her schoolwork, but such performance is maintained at high levels of tension. Katie is eager to please and "get it right", so has highly developed cognitive ability. Over-reliance on her cognitive problem-solving, i.e. thinking out, will continue to stress Katie, particularly as school work becomes more demanding. Sensory-motor remediation will teach her that she can rely on her body to perform automatically and that she need not monitor her every move to see if it's "right".
