i probably shouldn't be laughing, but i was fuckin' around on facebook and on one page an ad loaded - you know the ones, theyre on the left-hand side and are usually for dating sites or energy drinks or glib t-shirts. this one was for weight loss.

i don't know whether to applaud them for so succinctly making their point - i mean, it was definitely attention grabbing - or to drop my jaw at what was a very misguided marketing strategy...
i don't know much about the ins and outs of advertising, but im fairly certain you aren't supposed to make your target market suicidal.
it's like if those sylvan learning commercials said 'stop being stupid'. not really motivation to do anything except perhaps a ten story swan dive into an empty swimming pool.
